Join us for a training about substance use disorder and harm reduction so that you can encourage a healthier jobsite culture, as well as be prepared for an emergency on the jobsite. Guest speaker, Elvis Rosado, Harm Reduction & Health Educator at the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, will discuss current substance use issues and trends in the Philadelphia region, what to look for on the jobsite, as well as how to respond to either suspected substance use disorder or overdose incidents.
The session will cover the following topics:
- Opioid / Fentanyl impact
- Drug trends & risks
- Causes of overdoses
- How to recognize, & respond to an overdose
- How to get & administer Narcan/Naloxone

Elvis Rosado is the Harm reduction & Health Educator for the Philadelphia Department of Public Health. He has 31 years in recovery as of February 1, 2023. He has been providing opioid education & overdose reversal trainings for the last 12 years. Elvis has spent 25 years with Prevention Point Philadelphia from 1992 until Dec 2019 in one capacity or another, 9 years as a volunteer, 6 part-time and 9 full-time as an employee providing harm reduction, outreach services, and education to people suffering from substance use disorder, sex workers, and he provides HIV education, prevention & safe practices.
