Join GBCA for a Respirable Silica Awareness and SGS Galson Laboratories Training on July 16th. Bill Walsh, CIH, EH&S, Global Project Manager/IH Consultant, SGS Galson Laboratories will present on respirable crystalline silica awareness and exposures. Members of GBCA have access to the GBCA Silica Program, complimentary as part of your membership. This program provides members access to: testing equipment, accredited labs, technical support, a written silica policy template, compliance checklist, activity checklist, and workshops. Members currently participating are welcome to join this training as well as members interested in learning more, and non-members potentially interested in joining the GBCA for access to the Silica Program and other great resources. Following the presentation on Silica Awareness Bill will cover qualifying/choosing a lab – requirements in the standard and quality performance indicators, introduction to the sampling procedures, virtual demonstrations of pump calibration and sample taking, common pitfalls in sampling, submitting the samples to the lab, an overview of how they are analyzed in the lab, and interpreting results.
