Join the Local Area OSHA Office and GBCA for Eggs with OSHA! The program will take place on Tuesday, November 17, from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the IBEW Local 98 Training Center.
OSHA representatives will begin the event with a presentation covering the latest updates and important safety considerations for the construction industry. Then, hear from Nick Gummel, Safety Coordinator for IBEW Local 98, for a presentation on Electrical Safety-Related Work Practices.
Electrical incidents are often the result of more than a single unsafe act. The presentation will examine electrical safety-related work practices from both a regulatory and real-world construction perspective. Topics will include establishing an electrically safe work condition, lockout/tagout, verification of absence of voltage, qualified-person responsibilities, energized work, job planning, and the role of supervision and training.
The presentation will connect OSHA requirements and NFPA 70E principles with the challenges encountered in the field, with an emphasis on practical steps employers, supervisors, and workers can take to prevent electrical injuries and fatalities.
*The early bird registration fee for GBCA Members is $35. After November 10, the fee will increase to $50.
*The early bird registration fee for Non-Members is $85. After November 10, the fee will increase to $100.
