Join us for a Permit-Required Confined Space Training for supervisors and companies. The outline below lists topics that will be covered in the training. 

  • Introduction, History and Understanding the scope & application of the Standard.
  • Identify “Confined Spaces”, then determine if they are “Permit-Required.”
  • Identify when you may utilize “Alternate Entry” and “Reclassification.”
  • Know responsibilities of the Attendant, Entrant and Entry Supervisor 
  • Atmospheric Hazards, Signs and Symptoms of Exposure
  • Respiratory Protection
  • Ventilation Practices
  • Physical Hazards
  • Understand the OSHA requirements for developing and maintaining permits.
  • Rescue and Emergency Service Considerations
  • Course Review and Final Test
  • Hands-on demo
  • Emphasis on Supervision and responsibilities

Attendees will receive a certificate of completion from GBCA. Lunch will be provided. 

Presenter: 


Jim started in construction as a carpenter in Local #8 as an apprentice in 1980. He became a journeyman in 1984, and moved up to foreman, assistant superintendent, and superintendent. In 1995 he became an OSHA outreach trainer starting his career in safety. He performed various duties such as audits, training, and field safety. He retired in 2013 and started to work for Med-Tex Services as a trainer. He currently teaches various safety courses in Fall Protection, Confined Space, MEWP, OSHA 10 & 30, PSM as well as other safety courses.


The deadline to receive a refund for event registration is (7) seven business days before the event. Cancellations received after the stated deadline will not be eligible for a refund.
