Special Guest: Jeremy Grey, the Executive Vice President of Industrial Development with HRP Group
Jeremy Grey joined HRP Group in May 2018. In his role as Executive Vice President, Jeremy is a leader in the organization and manages real estate investments and redevelopment projects across HRP’s national platform from acquisition to stabilization. Jeremy’s responsibilities encompass all facets of development, including due diligence, acquisitions, entitlements, horizontal development, vertical development, and leasing. Jeremy has 24 years of industry experience with infrastructure projects, brownfield redevelopment, large-scale industrial park development, complex acquisitions, and industrial leasing.
At HRP, Jeremy has been an instrumental leader of multiple complicated redevelopment projects which transformed shuttered obsolete sites into sustainable developments for the modern economy. A few examples are the 1 million square foot, LEED-certified Exchange55 facility in Chicago; the HRP Hudson and Mercer Logistics Parks in New Jersey with five (5) buildings totaling nearly 2 million square feet; and a 1,300-acre former refinery in Philadelphia which consists of 2% of the city’s land area that will be the future home of innovation and logistics facilities known as The Bellwether District.
Prior to joining HRP, Jeremy worked at CenterPoint Properties where he served as Vice President of Development and was responsible for acquisitions, dispositions, master planning, entitlements, permitting, local government interface, leasing, and overall development oversight. He managed the development of approximately 4,300 acres of intermodal and business parks in Illinois and California, including approximately 7 million square feet of state-of-the-art industrial distribution facilities and truck terminals, totaling over $1.6 billion of infrastructure and vertical development. Jeremy played a critical role in the 6,400-acre CenterPoint Intermodal Center in Joliet/Elwood where he managed the sale and development of the Union Pacific’s 835-acre intermodal center and $180 million of supporting infrastructure. Additionally, he served as the West Coast Development Manager for three years.
Prior to joining CenterPoint in 2007, Jeremy was a Staff Engineer for CEMCON, Ltd. as well as an Associate Engineer for Parson’s Corporation. During this time his focus was on residential development, commercial development, infrastructure projects, and rail design.
Jeremy serves on the Select Greater Philadelphia Advisory Board and on the Illinois Economic Policy Institute (ILEPI) Board of Directors as the Economic Development Director. He is a member of NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association and its Chicago Chapter. Formerly, he was a board member of the Will County Center for Economic Development and has also been a member of American Railway Engineering and Maintenance of Way Association (AREMA), Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), and the Midwest Association of Rail Shippers (MARS). Jeremy is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Illinois and received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
