This is a 10-week course that runs from September 12 – November 20, 2022, and gives students an overall understanding of construction equipment and selected construction methods.
Students should expect to spend 3-5 hours per week on course work.
It is important that the student keeps up with the class and does not fall behind. Course modules will be made available to students on Sunday of each week. Class work must be completed by the following Monday. Students will not be able to work ahead of the class although reading assignments will be made available in advance. Actual dates that modules will become available will be posted in advance on the course calendar.
Construction Equipment and Methods will run from September 12 – November 20, 2022. The purpose of this Construction Equipment and Methods, introduces the student to construction equipment and selected heavy civil construction methods. This includes economy, selection, and productivity of common construction equipment and construction procedures for heavy civil construction and site development. The course will cover an introduction to equipment economics and utilization, determining earthwork quantities, equipment production rates, fundamentals of earth moving and excavating, loading and hauling equipment, cranes, compressors, pumps and much more..

In each module there are discussions (10 points), homework (10 points), and a quiz (10 points)
