CLC Hard Hat Tour & Happy Hour: Temple University's Paley Hall

Join GBCA’s Construction Leadership Council for a hard hat tour of Paley Hall at Temple University’s College of Public Health on Tuesday, February 25th. 

Led by Rycon Construction, this project consolidates Temple’s College of Public Health—currently spread across 13 buildings—into a unified, 307,000-square-foot facility. The scope includes a 167,000-square-foot renovation and 140,000-square-foot expansion, along with complete infrastructure upgrades and a redesigned building envelope. The new addition will feature a steel structure, a vegetated green roof, and a mix of stone, terracotta, and curtain wall cladding.

Set to open in Fall 2025, Paley Hall will offer cutting-edge learning spaces, classrooms, and labs, as well as a state-of-the-art simulation center for clinical training. The simulation center will replicate real-world environments such as a hospital, park, and ambulance bay, providing students with practical experience in healthcare scenarios.

The project will achieve LEED Silver certification and is the first building on campus to request WELL Certification, focusing on occupant wellness.

After the tour hosted by Temple University and Rycon Construction, attendees are invited to a networking happy hour.

All attendees must wear the following PPE:

  • Hard Hat
  • Safety glasses
  • High vis vest or shirt
  • Long pants
  • Boots (no dress shoes, sneakers, open-toed shoes, sandals, flip flops)

Individuals not attired in appropriate PPE will not be permitted to participate in the Hard Hat Tour. GBCA will provide hard hats, safety glasses, and high visibility vests.

All attendees must submit a signed waiver to Meg Ginsberg at mginsberg@gbca.com by Friday, February 21, 2025.

There is a parking lot behind Paley Hall that is available for a small fee, besides that street parking would be the other best bet. 

After the tour, attendees are welcome to join us for a networking happy hour at Maxi's Pizza, Subs and Bar (1926 Liacouras Walk, Philadelphia, PA 19122), approximately a 2-minute walk from the job site.
